I thought of this as a way to describe how I felt as kid.
“Go to your room.” She says as obvious tired feelings dance with her words. But I don’t want to go. Loneliness sits in the corner of my room like a lion, hunting it’s prey in silence. At night it takes me in it’s deadly paws that hold knives of pain. On each knife has words of pain. The first is “unwanted”. The second is “fear”. The third is “hated”. The fourth is “unloveable”. The fifth is “suicide”. The sixth is “rejection”. The seventh is “loneliness”. The eighth is “pain”. The last one is “death”. The lion is missing a claw that he desperately needs back but I do not have the missing claw. Each night he stabs me with each feeling but waits till I am begging for death to tease me before he finally leaves me alone. I want to tell her all of this but instead I nod, and head up the stairs to meet the lion once again.
